Ep 5 - John Jacobson 

Guest: John Jacobson is a music educator, choreographer, and author who is internationally recognized for his large-scale music and choreography productions. His outstanding body of work includes producing hundreds of shows in association with Walt Disney Productions, directing choreography for presidential inaugurations, and producing massive song and dance numbers for events such as NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. He founded the classroom standard John Jacobson’s Music Express Magazine which has reached nearly four million children worldwide. The topic proposal for the research is to conduct interviews with music educators and authors who have written, arranged music, performed, recorded, published, shared, and sold elementary general music resources to teachers in the educational marketplace. Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for MUED 783: Final Project in Music Education at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts graduate studies program. Hosted, recorded, edited, and music composed by Samson Trinh with additional music by John Jacobson. This interview was conducted on July 22, 2020.
